Yes and No

We believe it takes more than a single consultation to improve health, but if you are in our practice and have a friend or family member in need of some support, we offer single consultations for acute problems. The cost is $300, and is a great way for that friend visiting from Europe to avoid an urgent care visit for something like a UTI.

We can usually accommodate same day appointments and can always get you in for a physical within a week

We understand that your needs may change, and we want to help you through whatever transitions you're making. If you need to cancel, please let us know. We request that you give us a three month notice. 

No, thankfully, we don't accept or bill health insurance at Essential DPC. We forgo insurance payments in order to save our patients from the arbitrary, intrusive decisions that inevitably follow when dealing with third-party payors (insurers). Furthermore, our direct care model frees us from the typical contractual agreements that prevent physicians in traditional practice from offering wholesale prices on medication, laboratory tests and imaging.

Yes. You only need to sign a biennial waiver declaring that neither you nor your doctor will directly bill Medicare for our services. Medicare will still cover any laboratory testing, imaging, medications, or hospitalizations ordered by our office.

First, we use a wide variety of tools to help you with most diagnoses, and in providing excellent care with unprecedented access, we can often avoid and reduce unnecessary referrals. When a specialist is required, we have broad connections to specialists across Los Angeles that fit your insurance plan.
